Hi all,

Birded this morning in Rockville near Avery Road to Lake Needwood.  Got out later than I wanted.  Near Lake Needwood (on foot) I heard what I thought was a Blue gray Gnat catcher,
(yippee!) but on closer investigation, a Brown Thrasher popped out of the bushes, giving me a
wily look like: "you didn't fall for that did you?"  Briefly saw a Barn Swallow at the lake.
Among a kettle of Black Vultures, I picked out a 1 Broad winged Hawk. A Louisiana Waterthrush  sang briefly back in the woods.
It was also a good day for toads, frogs, turtles and snakes.  I found my first 5 Lined Skink sunning on a log, as well as a Garter Snake which tried to make itself look mean. Toads and Frogs calling all over the place.
