FeederWatch 2009-2010 report: West Laurel (PG County)

Our last FeederWatch count of the season was this past 
weekend.  Below is a summary of what came to our West Laurel 
yard (under the FeederWatch protocol), showing the highest 
count for each species.  Legend: (*) indicates the species 
was seen during only one (2-day) FeederWatch; (#) indicates 
the species was seen during EVERY FeederWatch; (!) indicates 
a new species for our FeederWatch.  We did 14 2-day counts 
between Nov 14 and Apr 4, inclusive.

40 species, no new yard birds.

Species counted in previous years (2006-2007, 2007-2008, 
2008-2009), but not this year: Red-breasted Nuthatch, 
Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Hermit Thrush (once), Cedar Waxwing, 
White-crowned Sparrow (once), Rusty Blackbird (once), Purple 
Finch, Pine Siskin.

Species observed from the yard this past FeederWatch season 
but that weren't counted (including flyovers, birds seen on 
non-count days, birds that were heard only, etc.): Canada 
Goose, Ring-billed Gull, Pileated Woodpecker, Fish Crow, 
Common Raven, American Tree Sparrow.
