Howdy all,
      I'll be in the LRGV later this month and am looking for info on camping.  I know a lot of folks on the list have been to the area in recent years.  The camping selection in the entire valley looks pretty meager, with only Bentsen Rio Grande State Park as the only option between the coast and Falcon Dam.  If anyone has any info and can reply off list, I would really appreciate it.
I'm wondering:  can BRGSP be used as a base for exploring much of the valley, or are logistics too confining due to the tram?Are there other locations I'm missing?Has anyone camped at Boca Chica Beach, and if so, how safe is it?What is camping at Falcon Dam like?Are there any other budget accommodations you can recommend (shoestring budget)?Thanks!
