Observers: Hal Wierenga, Marty Miller, Ralph Geuder
Visitors: Steve Whitcomb, Marcus James, Paul Miller, John DeFoe, Lee
Weather:
Cloudy at the onset, quickly becoming mostly sunny; 65 to a very warm 89
degrees; poor to fair visibility with haze; winds calm then southwesterly
6-16 mph, gusting to 21 mph
Raptor Observations:
The flight got very high in the warm temperatures and the sunny hazy skies
made detection difficult. Many Turkey Vultures went north over the water a
considerable distance west of us, probably due to the strong southwesterly
winds.
Non-raptor Observations:
An adult Little Blue Heron, first of the season; 11 migrating Common Loons;
a probable Giant Swallowtail (Butterfly)
