I looked at Aquasco today for the Vesper Sparrow found by Rob on Sunday and seen again on Monday, but had no luck. I found a total of 30 Savannah Sparrows there at 5 diffrent locations, and looked around the roads and edges fairly thoroughly but had no luck. I doubt it made much difference regarding the birds, but a small group of beagles were being run by a person there ("trained", if you call it that - but there wasn't much training happening), and they were obnoxiously loud. Ordinarily I like dogs (a lot!) but I can't see the point of running dogs around that do nothing but bark and chase wildlife - especially during spring or summer breeding/nesting season. If it was hunting season that could be different, but it is not. Spring Turkey season is just around the corner, but you can't use dogs in Md to hunt them. Some bird species are already nesting and this has to be a conflict of interest for wildlife management at this site.

That's all I will say on it.

As to what birds I found, No surprises or even FOY birds there today; best species were probably a horned lark and a red-headed woodpecker.
