Yesterday was such a beautiful day - what else do you do but bird! My husband and I had some nice FOY birds at some locations in Harford County. Susquehanna State Park had a singing LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH in the woods right outside of the Lapidum boat launch. At the Lapidum parking area ( they are supposed to be doing construction, but nothing going on yesterday), we had the usual BONAPARTES, OSPREY etc, but no unusual gulls. The main parking area had some CHIPPING SPARROWS, which were FOY for me. Next stop was Tydings Memorial Park in Havre de Grace. Had one BARN SWALLOW mixed in with a dozen or so TREE SWALLOWS. SWAN HARBOR FARM had some new arrivals since I was there a week ago. I flushed a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL while walking up to the bird blind. Other nice birds, that were present last week as well, were SNIPE, I counted 8, there were probably more, GREEN WINGED-TEAL, HORNED LARKS, SAVANNAH SPARROWS and SONG SPARROWS. Unfortunately, no shorebirds yet. Good birding, and I'm hoping this beautiful weather brings in the birds!
