Morning all.
My wife and I just returned from a week in sunny (but not hot like here!) southern Florida. When we left here it was cold, windy and raw, and we returned to highs in the low 90's. What happened while we were away??

A walk around our yard yesterday revealed that the juncos have gone, Chipping Sparrows are all over the place, a yellow Palm Warbler was tail-pumping on the fence (they were everywhere in FL, even Garden Key in the Tortugas), Tree Swallows were vying for spots in our bluebird boxes, as were the bluebirds, an Eastern Meadowlark flew into the field behind us, showing off its yellow breast in the morning sun, and a Brown Thrasher was in full song at the top of a cherry tree. A lovely spring morning, but I returned with a terrible cold so am only partially able to enjoy it.

This morning, a lone Savannah Sparrow flew from the field in our back yard to a small maple tree, then off and away. Thought I saw a pelikan but it might have been the cold medecine messing with my head ;-)
