Variably cloudy; a chilly 49-54 degrees; winds strong out of the NW or WNW,

Raptor Observations:
A harrier and 2 Ospreys flying north just above the surface of the water,
perhaps to escape the strong winds
Non-raptor Observations:
Surf Scoter; a Horseshoe Crab up-ended on the beach was put back into the
water and subsequently swam off.

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
