Is the Natural Area open to the public? How would one access it the best (there are a lot of acres there!)
Thanks,
Joanne

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Bacon Ridge Natural Area, Crownsville, MD - 5th Annual “Walk for the Woods”
Thanks to the Scenic Rivers Land Trust, I checked out the Bacon Ridge Natural
rea in Crownsville, MD this morning. They had a bunch of tours and did a great
ob coordinating the event. I sure wish this place was accessible all the time.
ighlights included my FOY Ovenbirds (3), Louisiana Waterthrush, N. Parula,
lack & White Warblers (4), multiple B.G. gnatcatchers including 1 nest and a
ird with nesting material. Several Chipping Sparrows, Wild Turkey (1 hen),
ree, Barn, N. rough-winged Swallows, Chimney Swift (FOY), Red-tail Hawk, 2
dult Bald Eagles, and my FOY Broad-winged Hawk.
It was quite windy so, I am sure there were more birds around that went
ndetected but
great weather at a fantastic location!
Good Birding,
