Yesterday afternoon, (4/20), 3 Cattle Egret were foraging in a ditch off
Stagwell Rd in Queen Anne's County alongside a newly-plowed field.

Subject: Cattle Egret in St. Mary's

As I was driving to meet my carpool in Calvert County from St. Mary's
County, I noticed a Cattle Egret along the side of Rt. 4 between Rt. 235 and
the Solomons Bridge. It was in a plowed field on the south side of Rt. 4
basically across from the intersection with Myrtle Point/Kingston Creek
Road. It did not look happy at all in the upper 30s temps we had overnight!
This is the first time that I've seen a Cattle Egret away from the Pt.
Lookout area in St. Mary's County. It's also quite early.

Funny thing is that there are some cows about 1/4 mile further down the road
toward Solomons where I look all the time for Cattle Egrets. Maybe it'll be
there this afternoon when I head back home.
