There were some interesting birds along the river(s) today and several first of the years for me. At Theodore Roosevelt Island, there was a Northern Waterthrush (foy)along the boardwalk, plus Woodthrush (foy), 2 Ovenbirds, 2 Northern Parulas.

At Fletcher's boathouse, there were 2 Warbling Vireos (foy), an Orchard Oriole (foy), and a Prothonatary Warbler (foy), all down by the picnic area, plus a Kingbird and Northern Parulas.. The hike/bike trails were pretty quiet.

At Anacostia Park, there was a Yellow Warbler (foy), plus Common Yellowthroat and Black and White Warbler, and a Catbird, I believe the first I've seen in DC this year except for January 1.

A great morning to be out after the rain stopped!
