Tonight at dusk while sitting on the couch at home I heard a
Whip-poor-will singing outside (I live in Easton, urban setting). The
bird was calling from a yard across the street a couple houses down.
This was quite shocking since Whip-poor-wills are virtually
non-existant in Talbot County. Equally shocking was that the windows
were down in the house and the bird was calling loud enough to hear it
outside! The Whip sang for a couple minutes and I haven't heard it
since. Great yard bird!
