I had an enjoyable morning in the Chester River Field Research Center Grasslands located on Chino Farms searching for returning Grasshopper Sparrows.  I found 16 singing Grasshoppers today, on the 19th of April there were two males and on the 22nd there were 10, so the birds are slowly filtering in.  Other highlights besides the Grasshoppers where 1 Orchard Oriole, 1 Baltimore Oriole, 1 Yellow Warbler, 1 Prairie and 1 Wood Thrush.

After work I checked a flooded field that I have been semi-regularly checking to find that it actually had some shorebirds in it for the first time. The field is located off of Pondtown Rd just north of the intersection of bowers Rd in northern QA County.
