Weather:
Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy; 57-62 degrees; good visibility; winds
mostly from the NW becoming stronger during the day, 6-16 mph, gusting to
25 mph

Raptor Observations:
Sharp-shinned Hawks everywhere all day with 241 from 11 to noon (daylight
time), 135 from noon to 1, and 129 from 1-2.  Merlins also making a great
showing, both zooming by and perching in nearby trees, with at least 4
adult males ("bluebacks").  Cooper's Hawks and Ospreys in good numbers as
well.  Conclusion:  A wonderful day!!

Non-raptor Observations:
An unprecedented spectacle of Chimney Swifts, in the neighborhood of 2500
passing by, along with probably 1000 or more other swallows and martins. 
Close to 1000 Blue Jays.  Five Least Terns. New arrivals: Green Heron,
Black-crowned Night-Heron, Yellow Warbler

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays.
