Every year we get a few Ospreys over the lake across the road. They usually
come thru in April and we have had as many as 5 in one day. This year I had
not noticed one until today. He/she was just leaving the north end of the
lake headed (believe it or not) north when I spotted it. This is a bit late
but better that than whatever. These are purely migrant Osprey headed for
points north (there's that direction again). Rarely do we spot a south-bound
fall migrant but it has happened maybe half a dozen times in 25 years.
That's an average of one every 4.16 years if anybody out there needed to
know.

Also had my second GREAT EGRET and my first GREEN HERON at work today, which
is in Essex. Also had an Osprey go by there on Saturday . He was heading
north at the time.
