Southerly winds have, indeed, brought migrants, as follows, all but six heard-only:
4/29 4/30
- 1 Great Crested Flycatcher
1 - Yellow-throated Vireo
1 1 Blue-headed Vireo (alticola)
- 1 Red-eyed Vireo
1 - Barn Swallow
- 2 Swainson's Thrush
2 2 Wood Thrush (breeders)
- 1 Nashville Warbler
1 1 Northern Parula
1 - Yellow Warbler
- 1 Black-throated Blue Warbler
5 7 Yellow-rumped Warblers
1 1 Ovenbird
- 1 Wilson's Warbler
1 1 Scarlet Tanager
- 1 Indigo Bunting
- 1 Baltimore Oriole
Catbirds are in and White-throated Sparrows are still here. Quite a few warblers were still in flight between 7:30 and 8 AM, too high to ID. The warbler count for the season is up to 10.
The maple seed blizzard is the worst ever, and rivals the snow blizzards (well, OK, but you know what I mean).
