I had an outstanding day at Susquehanna State Park. Had a total of 16 warblers, but the prize was a beautiful male GOLDEN WINGED WARBLER. I first heard his buzzy call and couldn't believe my ears, but then I saw him in all his spleandor. Needless to say, I was on a complete high for the rest of the day. I birded around the main entrance and Rock Run. Most of the warblers were at various trails leading from the main parking area. Other warblers: BLUE-WINGED, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, YELLOW RUMPED, PRAIRIE, PALM, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, PARULA, BLACK AND WHITE, AMERICAN REDSTART, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, OVENBIRD, PROTHONOTORY, YELLOW and CERULEAN. Other birds included ORCHARD ORIOLE, BLUE HEADED, YELLOW THROATED and RED EYED VIREOS, KINGBIRD, Great CRESTED FLYCATCHER, INDIGO BUNTING. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
