Hi Everybody: Told work I had "a few errands to run" and did a quick run to Hughes Hollow. I spent a good 1/2 hour scanning the left impoundment to no avail from 12 noon to 12:30 PM. There were 4 Great Egrets there but no Snowy in sight. On the way out I decided to drive up Hunting Quarter Road and scan behind the island. Still no Snowy Egret. Then I noticed a smaller egret perched on a small bare snag on the back side of the island and that is where I found the Snowy Egret. It then flew down into the back right side of the same impoundment (from the perspective of standing on the main dike.

I backed up to the parking lot to let some others know. Then Bill Hubick and Mike Ostrowski showed up (also B.S.ing their way out of work) and saw the Snowy Egret. (Bill promised that he would not scare the bird off). Also seen were a pair of Blue-winged Teal, 4 Great Egrets and at least one singing Orchard Oriole.

THANKS FOR THE GREAT FIND AND EARLY MORNING UPDATES.
