What a lovely morning at Rock Run Mill in Harford (5/7). Headed out to do the annual day before pre-May Count scouting trip (it's kinda like going to work, only nothing like it). Variety was plenty, however numbers were low; some species still MIA. This spring's migration has seemed a little out-of-sync or something - where's my pre-dawn chorus, it's volume has seemed low thus far.

The Warblers (17):

Northern Parula -- 5
Yellow Warbler -- 2
Magnolia Warbler -- 1
CAPE MAY WARBLER -- 1
Black-throated Blue Warbler -- 1
Black-throated Green Warbler-- 1
Blackpoll Warbler -- numerous calling
Cerulean Warbler -- 6
Black-and-white Warbler -- 1
American Redstart -- 5
Prothonotrary warbler -- 4
Ovenbird -- 5+
Northern Waterthrush -- 1 (singing beautifully from a medium height perch)
Louisiana Waterthrush -- 5+
Kentucky Warbler -- 4
Common Yellowthroat -- 3
Yellow-breasted Chat -- 3

Others:
Scarlet Tanager -- 3
Baltimore Oriole -- 1
Orchard Oriole -- 2
Red-eyed Vireo -- 4+
Warbling Vireo -- 3
Wood Thrush -- check
VEERY -- 3
Great-crested Flycatcher -- 2
Acadian Flycatcher -- 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee -- 1
Yellow-billed Cuckoo -- 1
Indigo Bunting -- 4+
House Wren -- 3
Caspian Tern -- 2
White-throated Sparrows -- 0
Scott Johnson's TU Ornithological Class -- many

May all of your warblers appear at eye level .... and a few feet away.
