Hello all,

Although we arrived pretty late in the morning, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of activity present throughout the day here, with many birds singing well past mid-day. Our hike produced 12 species of warbler, 3 vireos and many FOYs. My girlfriend and I birded from 11:00am to 3:00 pm and saw 50 species. Highlights included FOY Blue Gorsbeak (2), Indigo Bunting (2), Orchard Oriole (2), Red-eyed Vireo (4) and Yellow-throated Vireo (2). FOY warblers were Yellow (2), Prothonatary (3), Northern Waterthrush (1), Hooded Warbler (4), Am. Redstart (1), and Black-throated Blue Warblers (1) and Wood Thrush (1). Also present was Black and White Warbler (1), Pine (1), N. Parula (4), Yellow-rumped (1), Ovenbird (2), Common Yellowthroat (4), White-eyed Vireo (2), Pileated Woodpecker (1), Chipping and White-throated Sparrows, Bluebirds, Osprey (1), Red-tail Hawk (1), and a few somewhat surprising Laughing Gulls. A great day with many of the above mentioned species seen very well at close range, often singing or chasing one another around, producing better-than-average looks.

Good Birding,
