I tried for Jim Green's Henslow Sparrow around 9:30 AM. Stayed for a 1/2
hr with no luck. Couple of folks were working on foundation of the 1st
house being constructed. Did not seem to disturb the Grasshopper or
Savannah Sparrows but it kept me from wandering further into field. I
guess this would be technically trespassing anyways.
One last stop before work at Violette's Lock yielded 3 tern species
sitting together on a log mid way across to VA shoreline at the head of
the rapids. 2 Caspians, 4 Forster's, and 2 Commons. There was one add'l
Forster's or Common that I was unable to identify because its bill and
body were obscured by the log.
