Hi all

Here are a few of the highlights from the Maryland portion of my weekend on the Eastern Shore. I was mostly concentrating on my photography, but a few interesting things crossed my path. Apologies for the late posting (weekends really should be three days long):

King Rail - 2 calling, 1 seen briefly
Virginia Rail - 4 (one uncharacteristically obliging - photos to follow)
Sora - 1 seen briefly
Solitary Sandpiper - 2
Prothonotary Warbler - 1
Yellow-breasted Chat - 1 singing
Orchard Oriole - 1 imm. male, singing

Rumbly Point Road/Irish Grove:

American Bittern - 1 heard
Clapper Rail - 3
Virginia Rail - 10
Short-billed Dowitcher - 3
Pectoral Sandpiper - 1
White-rumped Sandpiper - 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 2
Least Sandpiper - 20
Saltmarsh Sparrow - 1 sitting up in the marsh, close to the end of the road
