Weather:
Variably cloudy; 69-80 degrees; good to excellent visibility; winds mostly
from the west, light at first, but becoming strong, 13-21 mph gusting to
28 mph
Raptor Observations:
We watched a male Osprey with a fish court two females in the air. All
three subsequently alighted in the same tree. There was much conversation
among them, but they all finally flew off with the outcome unclear.
Another Osprey caught a huge fish and took nearly two hours to consume it.
Non-raptor Observations: Matt Grey had 9 warbler species; around 80 Bobolinks;
new for the season: Cattle Egret

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds have a westerly component. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
