I had the most cool experience on my way to work thismorning.  I was riding my bike on the towpath and out of the corner of myeye I saw a big bird flying along side me, very close (10 feet or so) and justa bit above head level with me.  Then it passed me and it was a Barred Owl!  It crossed in front of meand flew to the other side of the canal.  I thought to myself, "Self, what is thatowl doing flying around in the daytime?"  (It was 9am).  I went back to where I first sawit and another Barred Owl flew!  I watched the second owl for a while and eventuallyit flew back in the direction it had come from.  The day can’t be all bad when it starts withseeing two owls!!  Even if I was a bit late to work as a result.  ;-)
