Hi everyone,

I need some help identifying a small group of 6 birds that I saw pretty
high up circling somewhat lazily (but moving more or lest northeast).
They were in sight for probably 30 seconds or so. I think it's quite
unlikely that they were anhinga, but that's the closest thing I've found
in looking at candidates... I'm hoping that you all have some more
suggestions. Here are some that I've largely ruled out and my rationale.

D-C Cormorant - I recognize these pretty easily, the birds I saw today
had a more squat (but not short) or rounded/wide tail and in particular,
the wings showed now sign of a bend at the "wrist" like I see in photos
of cormorants in flight.

Loon Sp. - While I haven't seen many of these in flight, there was no
noticable coloration on the birds I saw, they were all dark (black?)
wings didn't seem as compact (thin) and couldn't make out any feet, or
much body, mostly wings tail, neck/head

Ibis Sp. - I think it's unlikely 'cause the tail on the birds I saw
seemed much more prominent (and no legl/feet visible), they just soared
as opposed to flapping.

I really welcome any ideas you have. I wish I'd had a camera!!!

Thanks in advance,
