Note 1: I'm pretty sure (ok, 97% sure ... ) it was the Chestnut-sided Warbler(s). The song was the classic "Pleased Pleased Pleased to Meet Ya!", just like the one on the Peterson CD; I listened to other warbler song on my iPhone birding app to make sure I hadn't mistaken it for something else, and feel pretty confident of the ID.
Note 2: Saw three thrushes that were grayish brown, fairly sure they were Swainson's. Also heard some Thrush-like song. After listening to several Thrush song, I concluded it was a Wood Thrush because of the rich smoother tones. The Swainson's song, according to the recordings, is a little rougher.
I've noticed that the 'locals' are much quieter. I'm guessing some have settled into their nests and are keeping a low profile.
Since I'm pretty warbler-challenged, I heard sounds that i could not identify that were quite intriguing. And of course, they're up in the tree-tops and i'm left cursing at the leaves. (No Hooded warbler heard, which was really disappointing -- guess he couldn't find any girls and moved on to search elsewhere.)
