   Here is my list for yesterday's May Count: Canada Goose 37, Wood Duck 2, Mallard 7, Wild Turkey 2 heard only (at least I believe they were birds & not hunters in the Liberty Watershed), DC Cormorant 59 (coming to roost at Liberty Lake including one that was banded), Great Egret 1 (last bird of the day flying over Liberty Lake at sunset), Black Vulture 2, Turkey Vulture 12, Bald Eagle 1 adult at Liberty Lake, Cooper's Hawk 1, Kestrel 2, Semipalmated Plover 1 (at New Windsor as were all my shorebirds), Killdeer 3, Greater Yellowlegs 1, Lesser Yellowlegs 3, Solitary Sandpiper 22 (most I have ever seen at one time), Least Sandpiper 2, Bonaparte's Gull 2 (in breeding plumage at Liberty Lake), Feral Pigeon 3, Mourning Dove 9, Chimney Swift 14, Kingfisher 1, Red-bellied Woodpecker 2, Hairy Woodpecker 1 (no Downies!), Flicker 1, Pileated Woodpecker 2, Pewee 3, Acadian Flycatcher 4, Willow Flycatcher 1 (heard only at New Windsor while the one I saw Friday at Hashawha was my earliest ever), Phoebe 2, Crested Flycatcher 3, Kingbird 6, White-eyed Vireo 1, Yellow-throated Vireo 2, Warbling Vireo 3, Red-eyed Vireo 15, Blue Jay 4, American Crow 9, Fish Crow 1, Horned Lark 7, Purple Martin 8, Tree Swallow 11, Rough-winged Swallow 3, Bank Swallow 1, Cliff Swallow 2, Barn Swallow 48, Chickadee 7, Titmouse 3, Carolina Wren 2, House Wren 3, Gnatcatcher 9, Bluebird 8, Veery 2, Wood Thrush 4, Robin 22, Catbird 10, Mockingbird 8, Thrasher 1, Starling 52, Parula 6, Yellow Warbler 5, Black-throated Blue 1, Black-throated Green 1, Yellow-throated Warbler 1, Pine Warbler 1, Blackpoll 2, Black-&-white 4, Redstart 3, Worm-eating 3, Ovenbird 6, Northern Waterthrush 1, Louisiana Waterthrush 1, Yellowthroat 3, Hooded Warbler 2, Chat 1, Scarlet Tanager 4, Towhee 2, Chipping Sparrow 6, Field Sparrow 1, Grasshopper Sparrow 2, Song Sparrow 3, Cardinal 18, Indigo Bunting 4, Red-wing 11, Meadowlark 1, Grackle 18, Cowbird 8, Orchard Oriole 2, Baltimore Oriole 8, House Finch 6, Goldfinch 10, House Sparrow 17. 



Start at 0600, stop at 2000. 3 miles & 6 hours on foot. 110 miles & 6 hours by car. Overcast early but partly cloudy the rest of the day. Some sprinkles of rain in mid morning. No wind early but very windy most of the day. Best find of the day was a colony of Green Dragons.
