Glossy Ibis in Elkton

At 5:30 this evening, three Glossy Ibis were poking in the mud in the drying
pond opposite Redner's on Route 213 just south of Elkton. The afternoon
light was highlighting the iridescence in their feathers, so they looked
very photogenic-too bad I didn't have a camera with me.

 

Saw the Wilson's Phalarope about an hour beforehand-thank you, Dan, for
letting me look through your scope. That flooded area is quite a bit smaller
than it was earlier this week, and some grasses are now visible in mid-pond.
We heard a Grasshopper Sparrow while observing the birds today.
