Hi Folks,

I've been taking periodic mid-morning walks to the Middle Patuxent
River at the end of Eden Brook Drive off of Guilford Rd. (Howard Co.)
since March. These trips have produced little of public interest
until today, when I picked up some nice thrushes and nine species of
warbler. The highlights: GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH (1), SWAINSON'S THRUSH
(2), one of which was working a single tree for over 30 minutes,
SCARLET TANAGER (pair), BALTIMORE ORIOLE (1) and YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO
(1) working the same tree as the busy Swainson's Thrush. Warblers
included PARULA (5), CHESTNUT-SIDED (1), MAGNOLIA (2), BLACK-THROATED
BLUE (2: m & f), MYRTLE (1), BLACKPOLL (1), BLACK-AND-WHITE (1),
REDSTART (2) and a stunning pair of CANADAs. During about half of my
visits here I've been able to call in a BARRED OWL, and today was one
of the times it answered.

Also today our yard in Ferndale (AA Co.) hosted its first
BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER and INDIGO BUNTING of the year.
