I had a great morning walk around Schoolhouse Pond today. I bumped into Joe Hanfman and we birded around the pond and heard and saw a large number of warblers. Most numerous were Yellow and Blackpoll Warblers, which were seen and heard all along the edge of the pond. Also present was a singing Prothonotary Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, American Redstart, and Common Yellowthroats. Most unusual probably was the male Magnolia Warbler which was feeding fairly low in one of the scrubby willows and a Warbling Vireo which was foraging high in one of the ash trees near the rear platform.

Flyover gulls included Laughing, Herring and Ring-billed. Solitary and Spotted Sandpipers were present on the grassy mudflats. And there were numerous Cedar Waxwings present. There were several Osprey fishing over the pond and one adult Bald Eagle passed by.
