Hi all,
I was only able to bird for 2 hours this morning before chores drew me away from home and birds. Between 6:15 and 8:15 I managed to see or hear about 38 species ( I don't have my list in front of me now). Best birds were a pair of Blackpoll Warblers (FOS), Yellow-rumped Warbler, Eastern Wood-pewee seen and heard, Great Crested Flycatcher, at least 2 Baltimore Orioles, ditto Eastern Kingbird. Also seen were Pileated Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, and Red-bellied Woodpecker, Tree Swallow, Chimney Swift, a pair of (nesting) Brown Thrashers, 2 pair of nesting E. Bluebirds (one nest box I was getting ready to clean out the nest with eggs, since I hadn't seen any activity at all in several days; turned out to have babies this morning!), a single flyover Mallard, Cedar Waxwings, Song and Chipping Sparrows, Gray Catbird, etc.

Nothing too rare or terribly interesting, but a nice morning yard count nonetheless. Then off to Columbia to help my daughter and son-in-law tame the jungle that was their side yard, then home for more of the same.
