DC/MD Birders,

I followed Jim, Steve and Gary's advice and checked on the Reflecting Pool and Constitution Gardens Pond from 7:00-7:45 this evening. Things had moved in/out a bit but most of the birds were still there:

-Stilt Sandpiper (Great find, Jim! Thanks for the post.)
-12 Least Sand
-1 Semi Sand (it seems one of them left as there was only a single bird loosely associating with 8 Least; another group of 4 Least was doing their own thing.)
-2 Lesser Yellowlegs
-4 Solitary Sand
-2 Spotties (Constitution Garden Pond)
-6 Killdeer

The Semi Plov was no where to be found. 2 Black-crowned Night-Herons dropped into the pond at 7:45. It was wonderful to see 7 species of shorebird with the Washington Monument and Capital serving as a  backdrop. Ahh, urban shorebirding at its finest......

Just like Steve, I was extra excited not to get a parking ticket! The meter guy was two cars away and headed for me as I arrived back at the car.
