Howdy folks - This morning I was a the pond looking for the Alder Flycatcher and Warbling Vireo Fred found yesterday, and had great fortune to luck into the Mourning Warbler. It was seen well at about 20 feet, perched in a Spicebush with unobstructed views for about 20 seconds, but when I brought up the camera the handsome guy dove for the thick stuff. Shortly after that it began singing and continued for several minutes, and I called Fred as he mentioned. No luck with the Alder (or vireo), but a great consolation prize!

I had 53 species including 11 warbler species (6:45-7:45 am), including
Northern Parula 2
Yellow Warbler 6
Magnolia Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 1
Black-throated Green Warbler 1
Blackpoll Warbler 15
American Redstart 4
Prothonotary Warbler 1
Northern Waterthrush 6
Mourning Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 9

Good birding!
