A late night kept us from getting out early and it was around 9:00 when we arrived at Milford Mill Park this (Friday) morning. We went counter-clockwise around the loop, and after meeting other birders who reported WILSON'S and BLACKBURNIAN WABLERS, we hurried to the streamside part of the trail. We did not locate those two birds, but had our first of the year BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, then another, then another...
I called Bay-breasted into my voice recorder six times, but will concede that the birds were very active and it is likely I saw repeats. On another pass of this trail section I tallied three individuals; I'm happy with that. Photos were taken.

Most numerous species remain BLACKPOLLS (at least a dozen), RED-EYED VIREOS (10+), and AMERICAN REDSTARTS (8). Two each of BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLERS and VEERIES plus one each BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH were the only obvious migrants besides the Bay-breasted and Blackpolls, though I heard possible Magnolia and Chestnut-sided from deep in the woods.
