becoming light southeasterly the last two hours
Raptor Observations:
Two juvenile Bald Eagles, likely born this year in the southeast US
Non-raptor Observations:
A Luna Moth, probably disturbed from its resting place by a grackle which
missed taking it. Thirty-eight more Red Admiral Butterflies, making 304
counted in two days. They were highly attracted to the nearby abundant
Indigobush shrubs; Least Bittern, Common Nighthawk, and 2 Common Terns

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
