Olivia and I lucked into crossing paths with Tom Feild and Geraldine King
at Susquehanna State Park this morning. The four of us enjoyed good
company and *bountiful* warblers along the ridge trail (b/t the Mill and
roughly the mouth of Deer Creek), with a quick follow-up to Linn Just's
Mourning Warbler spot. Highlights included:

Common Merganser - 3 (one male and two females roosting along the river)

Blue-winged Warbler - 1 (Not a location I've found breeders in the past,
nor a place where breeding would seem likely now:
start of ridge trail on north side of Rock Run Rd)
Tennessee Warbler - 4
Northern Parula (frequent)
Yellow Warbler - 5
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 16
Magnolia Warbler - 15
Cape May Warbler - 3
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 5
Black-throated Green Warbler - 6
Blackburnian Warbler - 24 (~1/4 females; male song heard a little more
                           frequently than Parula this morning)
Yellow-throated Warbler - 1 (Relatively quiet this time of their cycle)
Bay-breasted Warbler - 13 (Although we sighted all singing birds, day's
total still ended up ~50/50, male/female)
Blackpoll Warbler - 32 (also ~50/50 male/female, seemingly twice as
numerous as Parula in most places)
Cerulean Warbler - 12 (~1/4 females; consistent with breeding inventory
in this segment of trail from past years)
Black-and-white Warbler - 2 (both female)
American Redstart - (frequent)
Prothonotary Warbler - 3 (tow path along Stafford)
Worm-eating Warbler - 4
Ovenbird - 4
Northern Waterthrush - 3 (tow path along Stafford)
Louisiana Waterthrush - 2
Kentucky Warbler - 3 (one at Mourning Warbler spot)
Mourning Warbler - 1 (at bridge in path leading from Picnic area...thanks
                      for earlier posts Linn!)
Common Yellowthroat (frequent)
Canada Warbler - 12 (~1/4 females, rarely were we out of earshot of a
                     singing male)
Yellow-breasted Chat -1

Cheers, Dave
