Kevin Mack and I spent 20 hours, starting just after midnight, doing a Big Day in Md (Elliot Island, Nassawango, Blackwater) and part of VA (chincoteague) on Sat May 15. 132 species tallied. Remarkable misses: Song sparrow, C Chickadee, and Yellow-R Warbler! Good finds: Whimbrel and Blackburnian W at Chincoteague, Willow Flycatcher at Nassawango, Bobwhite at Blackwater. Too much wind on Elliot Island kept our rail count low, but tallied the owls around Nassawango, as well as the Whipoorwill. Good birding.
