On Saturday 5/15, 7 of us did a Big Day in Howard County. We visited 14 locations. We ended up with 114 species. Some of the highlights were:

Alder Flycatcher @ Alpha Ridge Landfill. There is no public access to the Landfill but this bird or another Alder is still at Alpha Ridge PARK, which is open dawn to dusk . It was seen again today at 10:15 am. When you enter Alpha Ridge Park make your first left and park near the spot-a-pots. Walk to the end of the road and go to your right. An Alder Flycatcher has been in this area.

Black-billed Cuckoo - Marriottsville about 200 yards up river and to the right of the train tracks.

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron - Lake Elkhorn at Dockside

Black-crowned Night-Heron - Wilde Lake.

Blue-winged Teal - Wilde Lake - shallow end.

Least Flycatcher - Gorman Eden Brook

We added 2 birds to the county cummulative list getting us to 201 for the year.
