Today (5/28) I birded in NE Frederick County. The highlight was 5 Dickcissels in 3 locations: a male perched on a wire along Grimes Road just southwest of Sixes Road and next to a house, 2 males singing in a line of trees in fields along Sixes Bridge Road east of Grimes Road, and 2 in a field on the east side of Blacks Mill Road, southwest of Creagerstown. There were more Vesper Sparrows than I found last year. One was along Stauffer Road, southeast of Walkersville, another midway along Shriver Road (between Harney and Bollinger School Roads), and two along Bollinger School Road just south of Bullfrog Road. A Common Raven flew overhead at Shriver Road and one male Bobolink was singing along Sixes Bridge Road near the Dickcissels
