Hello All,
While working on the DE atlas project on the Burrsville CW block, I visited Gregg Rd for the first time. It runs between Knife Box Rd and Whites Lane, south of Whitelysburg. The best observation, however, was the non-atlas species. Between the 90 degree curves near the north end, a large puddle remains in one of the fields. It held 15 Semi Sands, 1 Semi Plover, 3 Killdeer and 3 Wood Duck. And the now dry puddle nearby had 7 Black-bellied Plover. I do not recall this spot being mentioned before, but it seems like it would have been a great shorebird spot a month ago or a duck spot back in March.
Also, at the north end of Whites Lane, I found counter-singing Bobwhite. There is a re-forestation plot on the corner, but not the typical white pine re-growth. It had 3 singing Song Sparrows. I do not recall finding breeding season Song Sparrows in natural habitat (not someone's yard).
And by the way, if anymore MD birders would like to venture across the border into DE, we could always use more help with the atlas project. My thanks to those that are helping out.

Good birding,
