This afternoon my wife and I traveled to NE Frederick County and adjacent portions of Carroll County. Our first sighting of interest was an adult Red-headed woodpecker along Keymar Road about a quarter mile south of Good Intent Road in Frederick County (a hard place to stop, however).

Continuing into Carroll County we observed a pair of Dickcissels along Sixes Bridge Road 1/4 mile east of South Keysville Road, along with four Horned Larks and a Vesper Sparrow. We saw another male Dickcissel west of Taneytown on Baumgardner Road S near the intersection with Bullfrog Road (previously reported location).

Also in Carroll County, we heard a Bobolink in hay fields along Walnut Grove Road about a half mile north of Bowers Road at a sharp curve in the road.
