To add my two cents... We have several wood thrushes every year. Last year was a bad year for us. Hermit thrushes were also missing over the  winter. The deer have cleaned the floor of our woods except right behind the house. We now have deer there. Our herd is about 20. The rest of our migrant nesters are here in usual numbers-scarlet tanager, orchard oriole, great crested flycatcher, blue grosbeak, martins, etc. We picked up a white-eyed vireo this year. Heard him singing softly three different warbler songs, a first for me.

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Wood Thrushes?

Every year I've heard Wood Thrushes in the woods near my house (Damascus
MD). They've been quite reliable - I usually hear the first one between
April 24 and April 27. But, this year I haven't heard a single one. It might
be my 67-year-old ears (but I seem to be able to hear the other "usual
suspects") or are the numbers of Wood Thrushes down this year?
