Birders,
Oh, say, did anyone see, by the evening's last light (a GRAY KINGBIRD)?
What so proudly you might've searched at the twilight's last gleaming...
Whose broad bill and overall lighter coloration, thru the perilous flight,
O'er the ramparts we searched, were only Eastern Kingbirds gallantly feeding.
And the binoculars bright glare, the scopes scanning the air,
Gave proof through until maybe tonight that our bird was still there?
O say, does that rare flycatcher yet graze?
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
In other words, if the bird was relocated, do tell! It's the patriotic
thing to do.
