Hi all we still have our Wood Thrush here at Queenstown . It would not be Summer if I did not hear the song of the Wood Thrush . Yesterday Sunday 6 - 13 the thrushes came to the edge of My yard feeding on the ground . When one of the Birds puffed its chest out put it head straught up and jumped up a couple of times . The Other Wood Thrush next to it moved off a very short distance with the first one hopping over to it keeping its chest puffed out repeating this behavior . This action repeated a couple of more times before they flew off into the woods. It did not seem to an territory dispute just some sort of display between a mated pair . I had never seen it before . I checked in my books at home and saw no mention of this behavior . If anyone knows or has any idea or thoughts on that display I would be interested in hearing them . It never gets old watching closely what birds do .
Happy Birding
