We went for a walk with the dogs in Wheaton Regional Park in mid-afternoon
yesterday and did have some (heard) bird activity from neotropical breeders:
Acadian Flycatcher - 2 calling
Wood Thrush - 2 singing
Veery - 1 singing
Ovenbird - 5-6 singing
Red-eyed Vireo - 3-4 singing
No sign of the Louisiana Waterthrushes which have been nesting along the
stream (we heard them in April) so not sure if they were successful this
year, usually have a family party by now.
