Today (June 17), I birded in sections of NW Carroll and NE Frederick Counties and recorded the following:

Red-headed Woodpecker- 1 adult along Rte 104 N of Taneytown just north of Piney Creek, 1 adult on Ruggles Road in woodlot about a half mile west of Rte 194

Horned Lark- 1 along Shriver Road in cornfield

Blue Grosbeak- 1 male singing along Sharrett Road next to railroad tracks

Dickcissels- 2 males singing along Sharrett Road in field opposite white trailers, midway between Rt.194 and Crouse Mill Road (reported by Bob Ringler last week)

Vesper Sparrow- 1 along Harney Road in large fields just west of Monocacy River and 1 along Harney Road just east of Bullfrog Road (the section that goes into PA)
