Howdy,
Yesterday, I took a pre-evening walk with my wife and kid around Chancellor's Point Natural History Area's 3.2 mile trail. Birds were pretty quiet, however one PRAIRIE WARBLER flew in close enough for a couple of photos. Great habitat diversity on this trail- cultivated and non-cultivated fields, loblolly and hardwood forests, marsh and riverside, as well as a couple of well-tended gardens. Parking is available at the St. Mary's City visitor center, and there is no fee to walk the trail.
Also, incidentally heard at the intersection of Route 5 and Glen Mary Farm Ln, in Park Hall, was a singing KENTUCKY WARBLER.
Cheers,
Matt Tillett
