Same here. Too many places to post including before and after conference trips. Am doing this posting from a internet cafe here in O.C. in middle of firemen convention.

Highlights:

Friday before conference, John Dennehy came by my place and heard 3 Wood Thrush and a Ovenbird as one of my forest section has improved with lots understory became thicker. At Harford Glen, picked up thrasher for John's county list. Perryman Area has lots of breeders: willow flycatcher, horned lark, chat, grasshopper & field sparrow, meadowlark, orchard oriole
and lots more. We went seperate way as John head east to Cecil and I went south to do some scouting in Queen Annes. Heard a very close bobwhite in a long note at a private farm along Bennett Point.

Saturday during conference: At Horsehead in am, Laughing Gull, Hairy Woodpecker fledged chase mother around, lots of Brown-headed Nuthatches and Pine Warblers calling, a few were seen, Marsh Wren. At Eastern Neck, very slow due to heat, but we get to see 2 prs of kingfishers, some Brown-headed Nuthatches, Marsh Wren, Pine Warblers, chat, Blue Grosbeaks. ON way back to Washington College, we picked out 3 Cattle Egrets at Rt 213 & Reese Corner Rd.

Sunday am: a very odd day as we found 5 out-of-season waterfowl (none were seen on Sat trip) and they are adult Tundra Swan, hen Green-winged Teal, drake Lesser Scaup, drake Surf Scoter and drake Bufflehead. But we often get scoter and scaup all summer there. Also a Brown Pelican seen by a few on a pilings at Parson Island. Virginia Rail & Willet calling, Great Horned Owl flew through woods, more nuthatches, Yellow-throated and Pine Warblers seen and heard, chat, 2 seaside sparrows.

Afterward, stop by Chino Farms near shrike site and picked out dickcissel through scope as it's way out, meadowlarks, horned larks, field sparrows. And off to Ocean City.
