Hello Everyone ,
Did a short trip this afternoon to Gun Road near the Patapsco Valley State Park Catonsville area with friend Sykes . We found 3 Coopers Hawks hanging in a yard at the corner of the one street that goes off the left of Gun road . Dont recall the name of this street. When we got here a Coopers hawk was sitting on the guard rail at the side of this side street. Being about a foot off the ground. When we stopped he flew into a tree in the yard and was instantly being bombarded by a Hummingbird.Sykes yells he being chased by a bird . I said thats no bird its a butterfly . Then No not a butterfly a Hummingbird . Being excited that there may be a Hummingbird nest nearby we got out to take a look . Finding 2 more Coopers Hawks hanging in same yard. They all seemed to act like Juveniles but i dont believe they were . They seemed awkward in their flying . Hopping up tree limbs to get away from the tiny birds that were bombarding them. Probably had a nest in
this area. Sykes did get video of all three so maybe will get more confirmation . Juveniles or Adults . Birds stayed in this yard entire 45 minutes here . Very exciteing seeing 3 Coopers Hawks hanging about together .
