After a failed attempt to find the Dickcissel on Tuesday.   I went looking for the Public Landing Dickcissel Wednesday.    Arriving at the sight around 4 PM. I watched and listened for half an hour.  I heard it call from a long distance 10 times.  A friend of the owner of the land across from the failed Development asked what I was up to. I told him all about the bird and then he told me that it was ok to look around the property for the Dickcissel.  I then explored the property which had an entire field of sunflowers . While on my way out of the property I heard the call of the Dickcissel coming from the sunflower field.  I quickly found the  male Dickcissel perched on a sunflower only 100 feet away. While taking pictures and video through my scope the Dickcissel flew over to another bird which I was pleased to see was a Female Dickcissel.  While watching the pair the owner drove by and was glad to see me bird watching on his property.   I watched the the pair for another 20 minutes then headed home.
The the Dickcissels are favoring the Sunflower field  behind the Wildflower grove. You can see the field from  Public Landing RD.
